We offer an inclusive student empowerment programme to integrate leadership and responsibility in the curriculum. The School Student Council is a forum where the students cumulatively experience the connect between their formal learning and its application in real life situations. It provides opportunity to develop leadership skills by proactively participating in all school processes, sensitize students towards the community welfare. The Student Council ensures adherence to student code of conduct and thereby a safe and conducive environment for all.

The Student Council members are appointed after a rigorous selection process. The students fill the Prefectorial form/ leadership inventory which serves the purpose of self-assessment and self-exploration. The selected students then pass through the three levels of interview with house moderators, coordinator and finally with the Principal and the Directors of the school. A Leadership induction program is also organized, to provide the selected group with grooming through various sessions on leadership attributes and adventure activities. The Student Council plays a pivotal role in dealing with various issues related to discipline, order and behaviour among in addition to the events’ planning and execution.
The House system at Delhi Public School Mandla Road is based on great Leaders and laureate, who have set ideals through their own life examples.
The Ashoka House symbolizing Red colour, based on the great ruler King Ashoka, has the motto "The harder the battle the sweeter the victory." Ms. Gargi Gupta is the warden of Ashoka house.
The Patel House symbolizing Blue colour, represents the dynamic leader Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, has the motto "Steered by the ideals of Iron Man of India." Ms. Renu Nayak is the warden of Patel house.
The Tagore House symbolizing Green colour, named after the famous laureate and Social Reformer, Rabindra Nath Tagore, has the motto "There is no "I" in the word TEAM, but together we can make things happen." Ms. Pooja Sharma is the warden of Tagore house.
The Vivekananda House symbolizing Yellow colour, after the famous Philosopher, Author and Religious Educationist, Swami Vivekananda, has the motto "You have to first believe in yourself to achieve your goals." Ms. Santosh Singh is the warden of Vivekananda house.
The students are divided into these four houses, headed by Captains and Vice Captains of respective houses under the mentorship and guidance of the House Wardens.
With a common goal of building a sense of unity and learning as a team, all houses strive to inculcate the most mindful values amid students. This is achieved through various inter-house activities in sports, music, dance, dramatics, arts, public speaking, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Sciences and general knowledge.
Thus, through our Inter House cultural and co- curricular activities, we give a multitude of opportunities to students to kindle their existing knowledge and absorb new learnings along the way.
Points are awarded to students of each house throughout the year for their performance in academics, co-curricular activities, games and sports. At the end of the year, the house gaining the highest number of points wins the Best House Shield.
